The Architecture of Identity: Introducing the Woodland Trio and the 'God Made You' Vision

When you look at a sprawling cathedral or a perfectly joined timber-frame home, you don’t just see wood and stone. You see a series of intentional decisions. You see a blueprint that was wrestled with long before the first shovel hit the dirt.
At David Corwin Ash, we believe the human soul requires even greater architectural intentionality. We aren’t just "growing up"; we are being built. And in a world that often feels like it’s trying to tear down the foundations of who we are, we need a map that brings us back to the Chief Architect’s original design.
I’m Penny, and today I’m pulling back the curtain on the 'God Made You' series architecture. This isn't just a collection of children’s stories. It is a lifelong discipleship map, a prophetic blueprint designed to carry a child from their very first breath into the full stature of adulthood.
The Foundation: God Does Not Make Mistakes (GDNMM)
Every structure is only as strong as its foundation. For the 'God Made You' vision, that foundation is a single, unshakeable truth: God Does Not Make Mistakes.
In the David Corwin Ash family of works, we lean into this not as a platitude, but as a theological battle cry. Whether we are speaking to a toddler or a teenager grappling with the complexities of modern identity, the message remains: "I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well" (Psalm 139:14 ESV).
We believe that identity is received, not achieved. It is a gift from the Creator, woven into our very DNA. When a child understands that their existence is an intentional act of a loving God, they are no longer at the mercy of shifting cultural sands. They are built on the Rock.

Meet the Woodland Trio: Your Guides on the Journey
To navigate this map, we’ve introduced three companions who embody the heart of this ministry. They aren't just characters; they are mentors designed to grow alongside your children.
1. David the Squirrel The namesake of our founder, David the Squirrel represents the "History and Heart" of the vision. He is inquisitive, grounded, and deeply connected to the roots of the forest. He reminds us that our stories are part of a much larger narrative: one that began long before we arrived.
2. Patience Patience serves as a primary narrator for our Teen Edition. Her voice is one of "Identity Guide" logic: real, lived-in, and unflinching. She understands that the "No Mistakes" message isn't always easy to swallow when life feels broken. She walks the path of the "both/and": knowing that we can be both struggling and perfectly held by God.
3. Rexley Rexley joins Patience in the teen years, offering a perspective of strength and resilience. Together, they bridge the gap between childhood wonder and adult responsibility. They reflect the "noble companion" aspect of the Corwin name: offering a rebirth of hope even in the middle of identity crises.
For the little ones, we have Patty, our narrator for the Children’s Edition. Her voice is gentle, clear, and filled with the warmth of a mother’s prayer. She lays the first stones of the path, ensuring the youngest hearts feel safe in the hands of their Maker.

Where Sacrifice Speaks and Silence Invites
Our mission at David Corwin Ash is rooted in the phrase: “Where Sacrifice Speaks, Silence Invites, and Prayer Prevails.”
This isn't just a catchy slogan; it is the atmosphere of our architecture.
Sacrifice Speaks: Like the Lamb on our logo, we teach that true identity is found in surrender and atonement.
Silence Invites: We create space for the "Hyper Walk": those moments where time seems to lapse and we sit in the quiet presence of the Lord, moving from the darkness of confusion to the dawn of renewal.
Prayer Prevails: Represented by the Praying Mantis on our logo, we advocate for prayerful vigilance over our children's souls.
David’s own name carries this weight. David reminds us of history and the heart; Corwin speaks of the "noble companion" and rebirth; and Ash represents the beauty of resurrection from ruin. This is the story we are building for every child who picks up a 'God Made You' book. Even if they feel like they are in the "ashes" of identity confusion, there is a "Corwin" rebirth waiting for them because the Chief Architect has not finished His work.

An Invitation to the Festival
We don’t believe in passive learning. Our vision for this series includes immersive "Festival-style" plays: think of it as a Renaissance Festival for the soul. We want children to sit with Jesus, perhaps help Him fix a chair in His workshop, and engage directly with characters like Rexley and Patience. This isn't theater you watch; it's a Kingdom you inhabit.
As we move forward into 2026, we invite you to join us in this architectural feat. Whether you are a parent, a grandparent, or a mentor, you are a co-builder. Together, let’s ensure that the next generation knows: deep in their marrow: that they are not accidents. They are masterpieces.

Final Thoughts from the Desk of David
David often says that his work as a disabled veteran has taught him more about the "Architecture of Identity" than any textbook ever could. When the body breaks, you learn what is truly structural. This series is his heart poured out for your families. It is a warning for reconciliation, a song of enduring love, and a blueprint for a life where God’s design is the final word.
Stay tuned as we roll out the "God Does Not Make Mistakes" Identity Guides. The Woodland Trio is ready to lead the way. Are you ready to walk the path?
Soli Deo Gloria.
