Master Roadmap: The 6-Stage Patience the Platypus Identity Universe (DCA_FAM_01)

In the quiet hush of the woodland, where sacrifice speaks, silence invites, and prayer prevails, a new architectural blueprint for the soul is being unveiled. At David Corwin Ash, we do not merely publish books; we engineer inheritances. We are building a universe where every child, every teen, and every parent can stand on the unshakeable foundation that God Does Not Make Mistakes.

This is the "Patience the Platypus Identity Universe" (DCA_FAM_01). It is more than a series of stories; it is a six-stage identity-discipleship roadmap designed to guide a human heart from the first breath of wonder to the enduring legacy of adulthood. This roadmap is the "Book Zero" of our mission: a theological and creative architecture that answers the deepest question of the human experience: Who am I, and why am I here?

The Foundational Pillar: God Does Not Make Mistakes

The cornerstone of this entire universe is the truth of Psalm 139:13-14 (ESV): “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”

In a world that seeks to deconstruct identity, we are here to reveal the Master Craftsman's intent. The name of our founder, David, reflects a history-rooted heart; Corwin represents the rebirth of a noble companion; and Ash symbolizes the beauty of resurrection from ruin. This triad of meaning informs every page of the Patience the Platypus universe. We see the Cross as our victory, the Broken Heart as the seat of sorrow-born love, and the Praying Mantis as our posture of vigilance.

The Woodland Trio: A Living Parable

Our journey is lived out through the lives of the Woodland Trio, characters who embody the struggle and the triumph of becoming who God designed them to be.

  • David the Squirrel: A mentor in the making, David represents the future minister. His journey is one of stewardship and wisdom, eventually leading him to be the one who baptizes and even officiates the weddings of his friends.

  • Patience the Platypus: The protagonist who must grow into her name. As a platypus: a creature that defies simple categorization: she is the living embodiment of the "No Mistakes" message.

  • Rexley the Platypus: Patience’s courageous little brother. Rexley reminds us that being "different" isn't a flaw to be corrected, but a design to be celebrated.

Guiding them are The Baggers (Mr. and Mrs. Bagger), the Woodland Ministers and pastoral mentors who provide the spiritual covering for the forest, reminding us that every generation needs the wisdom of those who have walked the path before them.

Stage 1: Foundational Identity Seeds (Ages 0-3)

'God Made Me On Purpose'

The roadmap begins in the nursery. Stage 1 consists of seven rhyming board books designed to plant the initial seeds of identity before the world has a chance to sow weeds of doubt. These are tactile, rhythmic experiences that whisper the truth into the subconscious of the toddler.

  • Core Logic: Identity is a gift, not an achievement.

  • Narrator: Patty (the adult Patience), speaking with the warmth of a mother’s heart.

  • Focus: The physical body, the senses, and the immediate environment as direct expressions of God’s intentionality.

Stage 2: The Symphony of Diversity (Ages 4-8)

'Different Is Designed'

As children enter the social world, they notice differences. Stage 2 expands the universe with 16 picture books (Titles 8-23) that tackle the nuances of human design. We move beyond the "oddity" of the platypus to the intentionality of all traits.

The titles explore the spectrum of the human experience:

  • Tall & Small / Quiet & Bold / Lean & Large / Fast & Slow

  • Loud & Soft / Brave & Scared / Quick & Curious

  • Early & Late Bloomers / Strong & Gentle / Messy & Neat

  • Thinkers & Feelers / Dreamers & Doers / Builders & Artists

  • Helpers & Leaders / Here & There Kids / Broken & Healing

Each book reinforces that these traits are not accidents of nature but tools for the Kingdom. Whether a child is a "Thinker" or a "Doer," they are invited to see their temperament as a specialized instrument in God’s orchestra.

Stage 3: Identity Exploration (Ages 9-12)

'God’s Design Is Good'

In the pre-teen years, the "why" becomes as important as the "what." This stage moves into early readers and chapter books. Here, the Woodland Trio faces more complex social dynamics.

  • Purpose: To move from accepting design to appreciating the goodness of that design.

  • Theme: The transition from outward appearance to inward character.

  • Key Milestone: The Baptism of David the Squirrel by the Baggers, marking the beginning of personal spiritual responsibility.

Stage 4: Identity Claimed (Ages 13-18)

'Identity in Christ vs. Culture'

The teenage years are the crucible. Stage 4 is a teen guide and devotional that shifts the narrative voice. Patience and Rexley the Platypus narrate this stage as peers who have lived through the struggle.

  • Prophetic Focus: This is where the "Identity Universe" meets the "Identity Crisis" of the modern world. We teach teens to claim their identity in Christ rather than seeking it in the shifting sands of culture.

  • Theological Core: Sin is addressed not as a point of condemnation, but as a calling: a Christian responsibility to warn and reconcile. We speak bold truth with respectful love, acknowledging that while we teach and converse, final judgment belongs to God.

  • Key Milestone: The Baptism of Patience the Platypus by David the Squirrel. The mentor now begins to lead.

Stage 5: Purpose and Vocational Identity (Ages 18-25)

'Becoming Who God Designed You to Be'

As young adults enter the world of work and calling, Stage 5 provides the Young Adult (YA) framework for vocation. This is where the "Patience" of the platypus meets the "Craftsman" of the kingdom.

  • Architecture of Calling: Using the logic of "The Craftsman’s Source," we help young adults understand that their specific design: their "platypus nature": is exactly what is required for their specific mission.

  • The "Hyper Walk": Just as travelers in our stories experience the temporal time-lapse of the "Hyper Walk": moving from night to dawn: young adults are guided through the transition from the "Road" of preparation to the "Temple Courtyard" of service.

Stage 6: Generational Stewardship (Adult)

'Identity Legacy'

The final stage of the roadmap is for the parents, the married, and the elders. It focuses on family discipleship and marriage. It is the full circle of the universe.

  • Vision: How to raise the next generation of "Platypuses" who know they are not mistakes.

  • Narrative Peak: David officiating Patience’s wedding, a moment of profound spiritual symmetry.

  • Legacy: Moving from "Who am I?" to "Whom shall I serve?" and "What shall I leave behind?"

The Visionary Promise

This 6-stage roadmap is our commitment to the family. We recognize that the journey of faith is not a sprint, but a long obedience in the same direction. It is a "Hosanna Rising": a transition from the shadows of doubt into the full day of God’s presence.

We invite you to step into this universe. Whether you are a parent of a toddler in Stage 1 or a young adult searching for Stage 5 purpose, remember: the Cross is our victory over the lies of the enemy. The broken heart is where our love for others is born. And like the platypus, you may seem a mystery to the world, but you are a masterpiece to the Creator.

God does not make mistakes. He makes wonders.
